Cold Winter Days

When it´s cold outside and you´re stressed because of your job, uni school or whatever it might be it can be good to search for something relaxing.

For me a hot bath and a good book are the best way to let go of stress and negative thoughts.

No matter how long your to-do list might be you should always have some time for yourself to do the things you love to keep yourself from burning out!

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn - Book Review

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne´s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and plans are being made when Nick´s clever and beautiful wife disappears. As the police begin to investigate, the town golden boy parades a series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he´s definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

There aren´t many books that make me feel the way I felt whilst reading this book.

It is clever and interesting and shocking at the same time so that I always wanted to keep on reading. But then again I sometimes was too shocked or thrilled so I had to lay the book aside for a little while. This mixture of feelings is exactly what I need a good book to be.
Also the changing narrative perspectives make the book even more interesting and confusing which I liked best about it.
I definitely recommend it!

A quote from Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

"It´s a very difficult era in which to be a person, just a real, actual person, instead of a collection of personality traits selected from an endless Automat of characters.
And if all of us are play-acting, there can be no such thing as a soul mate, because we
don´t have genuine souls.
It had gotten to the point where it seemed like nothing matters, because I´m not a real person and neither is anyone else.
I would have done anything to feel real again."
